Step aboard the legendary Battleship USS IOWA, known as the “Battleship of Presidents,” and relive naval history in the heart of the Los Angeles waterfront. This self-guided tour lets you explore up to seven decks, both inside and out, along a thoughtfully designed one-way route that provides plenty of space for comfortable movement between family groups.
Travel at your own pace using the free, award-winning Battleship IOWA mobile app to enhance your visit with stories, maps, and multimedia guides. Discover the Officers’ Wardroom, Senior Officers’ Cabins, Admiral’s and Navigation Bridges, and Crew Quarters daily, with weekend access to the Main Galley, Crew’s Mess Hall, and Second-Deck Museum.
Children can join Vicky the Dog’s scavenger hunt, while adults uncover the ship’s heroic service across World War II, Korea, and the Cold War. Plan on spending around two hours exploring all exhibit areas.

Battleship USS IOWA Museum Address: Berth 87, 250 S. Harbor Blvd. San Pedro, CA 90731
Located adjacent to the Los Angeles World Cruise Terminal at the heart of the LA Waterfront in San Pedro.
Accessibility
- The main deck of the Battleship USS IOWA is wheelchair accessible, offering convenient entry for guests with mobility needs. Chair lifts are available to reach the 01 Level, which includes the historic President’s Cabin, as well as the 2nd and 3rd deck aft museum exhibits.
Please note: Chair lifts are usually operational, though occasional maintenance or mechanical issues may occur. Our dedicated crew is always on hand to assist visitors and ensure the most comfortable and accessible experience possible aboard this Los Angeles landmark. - Please note that access between decks is by ladders (stairs); elevators and lifts are not available at this time. For guests with mobility limitations, virtual tours of the Battleship IOWA are available.
- For guests using walkers or canes, the main deck and several museum exhibit areas are accessible. Stroller parking is conveniently available near the entrance for families visiting with young children.

- General Access bookings do not require a reservation in advance for admission. You may visit the museum during any time of the operating hours.
- Battleship IOWA Museum & Tours: Open daily from 10:00 AM; last entry at 4:00 PM. Closed on: Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day
- Vicky’s Doghouse Café Open Tuesday–Sunday, 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Closed on Mondays (except during special events)

- Kids can participate in Vicky’s Scavenger Hunt, following clues throughout the ship to collect a special onboard prize. Join Victory “Vicky” the Dog, the beloved WWII mascot of the Battleship USS IOWA, on a fun-filled scavenger hunt designed for young explorers and families. Follow Vicky’s pawprints through the ship’s decks to uncover hidden clues, solve nautical mysteries, and learn fascinating stories about life at sea. Kids who complete the hunt earn a special commemorative prize created by USS IOWA crewmember and animator Brent Noll
